WELCOME TO TAYBEAR
TEDDY BEARS FOR KIDS WITH CANCER or CHRONIC BLOOD DISORDERS

TO DATE: 30,064 TayBears donated
to children fighting cancer

Hello, my name is Taylor Crabtree and I am the 20 year old owner of TayBear. Even though I'm in college now, my committment to TayBear is as strong as when I started when I was 7 years old in 1997. It all began when I enlisted my friends to help me make handpainted hairclips so that I could earn money. All the profits went to buying teddy bears as presents for kids with cancer or chronic blood diseases.

I started my project because I felt that kids with cancer are probably having a lot of sadness. I wanted them to have something special to hug and to hug them back. I also wanted then to know that even strangers care about them.

My goal was to buy 50 teddy bears and donate them to my local hospital. But after I met so many of the kids that got a TayBear or having read their letters, I felt that I couldn't stop. More kids needed a bear to hug. I wanted to do more by reaching more children that are going through some very scary times. Soon a bunch of my friends volunteered to help and now we've had over 1,600 kids (and a few grown-ups) helping to bring a smile and a fuzzy friend to some very sick children. TayBear has now donated 30.064 teddy bears to the Hematology/Oncology department of hospitals all over the United States (with some to Canada and Mexico as well). THANKS FOR VISITING ~ Taylor

You won't see a bunch of pictures of the kids that get our TayBears to hug and love on this website. I made a decision in the beginning that I didn' t want to do that. I hope you understand.

BEAR UPDATE...

Thirteen years helping others!

Thank you to everyone that has been a part of TayBear over the years. From the kids (and a few parents) that have helped to make our hairclips, to the businesses that have contributed, to the people that have donated and purchased hairclips. It's been an amazing journey in our effort to give comfort to children fighting cancer or a chronic blood disorder. It's because of all the support that we've been able to give so many teddy bears to some kids that really could use a teddy bear to hug and to hug them back. Thank you, Thank you, and Thank you!
